While
I am still new to the hobby, I am always looking for new ideas to
better myself. Even though I am not a expert in all matters, I will
still help others if I know the answer to something. I feel, (and was
always thought), there are no stupid questions, well the only stupid
question is the one that never gets asked. There are many FaceBook
groups that deal with Amateur Radio and GMRS. Click on the links below
to be brought to the corresponding FaceBook search.
I
also have
AnyDesk, TeamViewer and Zoom so I
can remotely help you. You can download AnyDesk, TeamViewer or Zoom here.
I will have more information on how you can contact me by
AnyDesk, TeamViewer or ZOOM on my contact
page.
I
always been interested in radio. As a youngster, I
used my
Grandfather's 11 meter rig in his truck, (his call sign was KBJG 7918).
It has been years since you needed a license for 11 m, and I still
remember it! I also had a crystal AM radio
that I enjoyed listening to at at night. It was interesting to see how
far I could pick up. When I got older, I had my own 11 meter and
VHF-FM radio hooked up with a dual antenna. I also had scanners going
to see what I could pick up during daytime and night time hours. I also
spent my free time at Radio
Shack,
(well, who
didn't?). Now I enjoy a new 'candy store' which is every ham's
favorite, Ham
Radio
Outlet.
These groups are for hams and
GMRS operators on
the Eastern part of the US, (Eastern Time Zone), of the US to get
together to ask and answer questions. The GMRS site is for those users
in New England. I also did set up a few DMR talk groups, and also have a
VoIP extension on Hams over IP for the amateur radio group, BUT,
if you are in the GMRS group,m and have a amateur radio license, and am
on HoIP or AmateurWire, please, if you are in the East, please join the
Ham group also.
At times, I monitor the East Coast Reflector. The
ECR can be
accessed
many ways. You can click the antenna to go to the ECR website or view
the table below. You can also see how you may connect to the ECR here.
