About Us
We are an informal group of individuals meeting for the fun of sharing meals, fellowship, ideas, and working on radio projects. Our current projects include finding and testing new sites for our 3 receivers and testing different antennas. We had a Raspberry Pi fail on our PiRLP node 7652 (IRLP on a Raspberry Pi) in August 2024 and this was quickly repaired. Our other equipment continues to function well with minimal maintenance.
We participate in 2 weekly nets; Sunday and Thursday evenings at 7:30 local time except on the 4th Thursday of the month on which the group's monthly meeting usually takes place at Douglas Cafe (See "ITMG Meeting" webpage for details). This 4th Thursday Net is usually called by someone on IRLP who, of course, can't be at the local meal/meeting. The net is held on the group's 10 meter repeater and through our IRLP node 7652 which is connected to the 9450 Reflector, Channel 2 (9452) for the net. Any one is welcome to stop by, check in and say "HI" on the net.
We joke about if you show up for a meal and meeting you are considered a member of the Iowa Ten Meter Group. No dues or formal application is needed to participate in our activities. We operate on generous gifts, donations and skill sets of the members and friends of ITMG.
We look forward to meeting you in person or on the air, 73!
