Sten is 37 years old and lives near Bergamo (Italy) with his wife IK2TIC. He is an import/export manager in his own company producing hand-embroidered linen. Sten manages the Italia QSL Bureau of A.R.I. and began his contesting career in 1993 running RTTY. He later expanded his contesting horizons into SSB and finally CW. He prefers the high bands, and BIG pileups! Sten is the trainer at the HQ Italian station during the IARU contests.

Giovanni is 40 years old and lives near Bergamo (Italy) with his wife and daughter. He is a geologist by profession and works at ISMES, a company of the Italian National Electric Society. Giovanni has participated in contests for 10 years and was one of the I3MAU's M/M
Team … the only specialized and competitive M/M ever in Italy. Giovanni enjoys both CW and SSB, and is highly specialized in multiplier hunting. He's the IO2A's mults-fighter and likes low bands.

At 38 years old, Vini resides near Bergamo (Italy) with his wife IK2HFE and one child. At work he is an expert in computer hardware,  selling and repairing computers. Vini started in contesting about 10 years ago. Although he prefers CW, Vini is also a good run operator on SSB, and prefers the high bands. Vini’s life goal is to setup tall antennas  … the higher the better!! Fortunately, he enjoys climbing and working on tall towers!

Gino is 40 years old and lives near Bergamo (Italy) with his wife, two daughters and a son. Professionally he has a degree in economics and trade and works in his family's textile company. Gino, together with Sten IK2HKT, established the IO2A M/S station and Gino serves as its QSL manager. Primarily a SSB operator, he also enjoys CW and RTTY. He enjoys contesting on low bands and is a good USA pileup runner because of his excellent English language skills. Gino is the antenna designer at IO2A and loves quads.

Lucio is 38 years old, single (lucky man!!!), and lives near Bergamo (Italy). Lucio works in his family's business designing and building soccer and golf courses. Lucio is not a contest operator, but is a highly skilled electric and electronic technician. He will join the team, like Mauro IT9ZMX, to provide much needed support in setting up IH9P 2000.

Aldo is 40 years old, married with two children. Residing near Bergamo (Italy) Aldo is an engineer working in his family's company producing medical components. He began his contesting career about 10 years ago. He operates primarily SSB and has top finishes in several major contests. He enjoys pile-ups, and is a skilled multiplier hunter. Aldo is another member of the IO2A M/S station and the HQ Italian station during the IARU contests.

IT9WPO, Marco

is 40 years old, resident in Catania, Sicily, married to Chiara.
Licensed in 1975. Active in international contests during the eighties, often in multioperator. Many years in QRT, now again "On Air", DXCC 250 countries, WPX, WAZ, on the way to 5Bands awards. One of the IH9P's "fathers, operated both in 1998 and 1999 efforts.
Professionally Marco is a doctor, vice chairman of the Radiology Department of a large hospital and owner of two private diagnostic centers.

IT9BLB, "Joe"

40 years old,  lives in Palermo, Sicily, married  to Maura (IW9BO) has two children (Eleonora 11 and Anna 5 ). Home-brewer, BCL and SWL since 1972, Giuseppe was licensed in 1979 as IW9AJZ and started a long period of hard V-U-SHF activity having a lot of experience in the most specialized ways: Meteor Scatter, Moonbounce, duct propagation on 10GHz contacts etc. and organized the first "big V-U-SHF contest team" ever in Sicily, winning all the most important contest of the italian calendar. In 1982 the first activity from IH9 Isl. leading a multioperator team active from 80 meters to 3 cm with the call IH9ONU . In 1984 received the IT9BLB call and continued the contest experience on HF too, obtaining at today several top results at world and EU level in the most important contests; he was owner of the WPX SSB All-time EU Record on 20 meters S.O.S.B. QRO from 1994 to 1998.
Owner of several calls: IT84BLB, IO9BLB, I9BLB, IQ9W, IB9S, IT9S, IU9S, IH9P'98/99, KF6FBC and operated IP9IARU in 1982 and IG9W (1990's Lampedusa Isl. expedition), from Malta with 9H3DC call and team leader of "ITALY-2" Team in San Francisco's 1996 WRTC using  K6F.
He is active in many SSB and CW contests preferring S.O. category and hard pile-up. 325wkd/310cfmd DXCC countries, president of the Palermo's club of A.R.I. and sysop of the local packetcluster node IT9BLB-6. Professionally, Joe is employed at the Sicily's Department of Tourism.

another Giuseppe or "Joe" is 43,  he's married to Fiorella and has a doughter Giulia 10 years old. He lives in Palermo and works for an american chemical company the Pfizer International.
Ham radio since 1973 with call IW9AFS, became IT9VDQ in 1977, he was the Sicilian VHF Manager and actually he's member of Sicilian Commitee of  A.R.I. He is very active in VHF, mostly in Meteor Scatter, with 52 DXCC countries worked; in HF he needs only  P5 on CW and has 294 DXCC confirmed countries in SSB.
Very active in main CW contests, Giuseppe was 1th EU/3rd World  the '91CQWW-CW on S.O.S.B.10mt. operating as IT9A.
Other calls:IT84VDQ, I90VDQ, IU9V, IT9A, IE9/IT9VDQ, IH9/IT9VDQ, 9H3FI and KF6FDB (WRTC '96 session too). In the WRTC'96 operated  K6F with IT9BLB.

I8QLS, "Pat"

Pat is 39 years old, resident in Naples, married to Angela, has two  children.Licensed in 1978, at age of 17, he is home-brewer especially of
HF beams and enjoys dxing and contesting if there is something new to test.HF activity : he has 325 countries (only phone) and don't need QSL or awards; activated many italian islands ; the best memory was a solitary DX expedition in the Republic of Benin (Africa TY2LS, 1991, 8000 qso).
Sysop of the local DX packet cluster (I8CZW-6).

I8CZW (W1NA), Piero

Pier Luigi Iovino, age 54 married with Francesca ,one daughter Alessandra (age 18) is a geotechnical engineer and manages the construction division
of the largest drilling company in the world. He was first licensed in Italy in 1964 with the call I1CZW. He enjoys low band dxing and contesting. He started contesting at the end of the 60s mainly in the ARRL ssb (due to his geographical location) he managed to get up to the second world in the multisingle category. In the 70' s and 80's he joined I5NPH and I0MGM Multi/Single team achieving first place in CQWW and ARRL phone. In the 90's back to the USA he was part of K1VR, W1KM, W1FJ phone contest teams. In 1993 he was part of  EA9UK  operation in CQWW phone 1st world and old top M/M score from Africa. He was at IH9P during CQWW 1998 and 1999.
He operated  from 4S7, TL, G, VP2M, VP2E, PJ, FS, F, KH6, HK, 4X, 5H.

W7ZB, Mark

Martin is 31 years old, resident in Praha, Czech Republic, married to
Adela, two children (George 5, Hana 9). He has electrotechnical
acquirement. Licensed in 84 as OL1BLN (160m and VHF only). Active entirely in contests (at present OL5Y, in past OL1BLN/P, OK5TOP, OL1A, OL2M, 4U0ITU, 9A0A). He has worked over 135 thousands QSOs, 99% in contests. One of founders of the Czech Contest Club.
He is publisher and editor of czech HAM radio magazine (Radioamater). In contests he has many first places in OK and several good places in EU and two first places in the world in CQ WW / CQ WPX (SO SB). He prefers SO
operations, both CW and SSB. He designs and produces various
help-devices for operating in contests and was active from IH9P M/M
during CQWW SSB 1998/1999 and as IH9P S.O. during CQWW CW 1999.
Martin was one of the operators at S586U in the WRTC 2000.
Professionally, Martin is co-owner and director of three small companies - AXIOS (Personnel consulting company), T&CC (Training and Consulting Center) and Cassiopeia Consulting (new technology investments, advertising, publishing of Radioamater).
For sure, one of the best contributors at IH9P.

IK8ETA, Paolo 

Paolo ( IK8ETA) is 38 years old, resident in Salerno (Italy) with his wife and the daughter.
Professionally he is an electronic engineer employed in a big italian company with interests in space telecom in the whole world  (recently he
has worked on  Space Shuttle antennas). He frequently goes to  California and Florida. He is active in many contests and has thousands QSO's.
Recent significant contest activity was the participation to the '98 WPX SSB with the N6RO's team from S. Francisco. Paolo was also active in several CQWW and WPX his home QTH or as one of the operators of IR8A team.

I8ULL (AH1A), Gino

Gino Attaianese, 40  yrs old, electrical engineer, quality and safety consultant from Napoli. Married, one 7-yrs old boy. Licensed in Italy in 1977, then in the U.S. as KF1P in 1981, then changed in AH1A ( only owner of this call); also licensed in UK as G0IMS. First ever 160m cw op from Italy in 1980 as IR8ONU. Operated cw/ssb from IM0MIE, /ID8, and as P48K in '85. Guest op at many CQWW and ARRL in the '80s at I5NPH (1st EU M/S), I0MGM and I0IJ. 1st EU ARRL SSB M/S in '85 as I8MPO.
