IC-M600


Symptom: Radio will not transmit or receive after warm-up.
Probable Cause: PLL unlock.
Cure: Replace unstable C228 with a ceramic equivalent and adjust the lock voltage for 2 volts instead of 2.5 volts as stated in the manual.


Symptom: Carrier output when mic is keyed in SSB mode, distorted TX audio. RF feedback.
Probable Cause: RF feedback.
Cure: Add a ground jumper at J10, pin 4 on main unit.


Symptom: Won't operate tuner.
Probable Cause: S1 and/or S2 on the logic are not set in the proper position. Q52 may be bad.
Cure: Set switches correctly. Check Q52 for failure.


Symptom: No display.
Probable Cause: IC5 and C12 blown on logic unit.
Cure: Replace blown IC5 and C12.


Symptom: Radio won't turn off.
Probable Cause: Bad Q1 on relay unit.
Cure: Replace Q1.
