GENERAL RULES TO DRIVE A D.L.I. ACTIVITY

1.     All OM’s, Italians or not, can activate a lake with no formalities, but forewarnings are welcome as useful to spread the news of next activities.

2.     The station must operate at max 200 m. from the lake, anyway from the nearest reachable point in case the access to the lake is restricted, and always with max respect for the environment.

3.     The activator, within 30 days from the activation, must send via email the log with QSO data, the activated reference, the own call-sign and those of other operators or SWL who took part to the expedition to the Award Manager.
The log must be sent as TXT, DBF, XLS, DOC, RTF,ADI or also as a scan or photo of the  Logbook. JPG photo are welcome (max 100 kb per photo) .

4.      During the operations the activator must mention the name and the code of the reference as shown in the official list .

5.      It is not allowed to activate more than one reference at same time with same call-sign and in the same day only one activation is allowed. It is possible to activate the same reference on different bands and modes at same time, and to cumulate the QSO’s in the same log. The minimum of QSOs to get an activation validated (quorum) is 60.

In case of different operators in a team, after the reaching of the quorum of 60 QSOs by the first operator, the minimum of QSOs for other operators to get their activation validated is reduced to 30 .

The quorum  can be reached also adding activations of the same reference during same current solar year.

A QRP activity (less than 5 W)  does not require any quorum, but it is mandatory to describe the working conditions.

 6. In some particular circumstances like considerable distance from own QTH or forced QRT due to unexpected reasons, crappie propagation or other, even if the quorum has not been reached, the activator can ask to the Manager the validation of the activity. The Manager, once evaluated the reasons, can decide to validate or to not validate the activity.

The same rule can be applied in order to activate two references in a day.
That won’t be usual, but exceptional.

               7.     The use of repeaters or transponders is forbidden.

8.      The activities must be done as portable station with autonomous power supply.

9.        References:
If you wish to activate a lake still without a reference, it is necessary to apply for a new reference code by the Manager. The request can be sent via e-mail.

The assignation of a new reference code is at discretion of the Manager, and usually follows these conditions:

Are called lakes all those basins reported in the geographical maps, in the official cartography ( e.g. www.atlanteitaliano.it), either natural or artificial, the salted pools and various other basins, made for various purposes. The use of Google Maps can help, but it cannot be considered a valid document.

Not valid are the ex sand draws converted as fish-breeding or other draws for industrial use.

10.   The call-sign can be also referred to a team (it could be an ARI section call, as example): in this case the documents must contain the call-signs of the components of the team.

11.  For the Hunters the QSO is valid even if the Activator did not reach the quorum or the log sheet has not be sent to the Manager.

12.  All activities reports are shown on the official web site www.dlit.info  and we encourage to join the DLI forum to make proposals and to promote discussions.

13 Contingently info and supports can be requested to the Regional Managers that, on assigns of the National Manager, can substitute him in the DLI management of their own Region.
