THORNHILL

The village of Thornhill lies approx nine miles to the North of the town of STIRLING in central Scotland. There are village records dating back to the year 1696 so we can assume that there were houses here before that date, but in 1996 the village celebrated its' tercentenary (300 years). The Lion and Unicorn Hotel dates from 1635, this would indicate that the hotel was possibly a coach house or coaching inn, one of the many spaced throughout Scotland, and that the village "grew up " around it.

The village of Thornhill is on the A873 road North of Stirling, why not visit the village if you are in the area..
