AMATEUR RADIO

Hello, my name is Brian Devlin I have been a licensed Radio Amateur (HAM) using the call sign GM0EGI since 1986. I am a member of Mid Lanark Amateur Radio Society, Chiltern DX Club and the GMDX group. I love DX-ING and CONTESTING and I HATE lists, stations who don't QSL and most of ALL DX stations that don't announce their calls or their split frequency windows regularly.

I am a member of the G-MOB, Mid Lanark Amateur Radio Societys' Contest Group ( our call sign is GM0B ) and we operated in our first contest in October 2000 when we took part in the CQWW SSB contest operating from the Island of Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.

My home station consists of the following.-

Yaesu FT920 H.F.Transceiver, JST 135 DX H.F. Transceiver, Yaesu FT 707 H.F.Transceiver,

Ameritron AL84 H.F. Linear Amplifier, FC902 Antenna Tuning Unit, Heil Pro Headset with HC5 insert, 2 x 486 Computers for logging and RTTY,

My Antennas are 4 Element KLM KT 34 Yagi Beam for 10, 15 and 20 metres on a 45 foot tower

A Gap Titan 8 band vertical mounted at about 8 feet above the ground

A 40 metre windom  on the 40 foot tower

Various wire antennas which are put up and taken down at different times of the year.

I like to experiment with antennas and I am always working around with "bits of wire or aluminium"

I hold the following awards.

DXCC, W.A.S., W.A.Z.,MARCO POLO GOLD AWARD, NINE DRAGONS AWARD, W.A.A.

I am working my way to my 5BDXCC and honour roll.

I have 294 countries worked and 292 confirmed so far.
