I have been interested in radio and electronics from an early age and enjoyed a number of years as a SWL.  I spent 10 happy years in the merchant navy as a radio/electronics officer before coming ashore and working in the broadcast transmitter engineering and telecoms engineering industries for a further 30+ years.

I have held the amateur call sign Gi4BTG for 49 years - first licenced 12 January 1973.  My main interest is in HF CW, though I occasionally can be heard (or seen) on some of the other modes.
