The experiment with sticklebacks now over, having successfully bred and studied them,
I have now cleaned the tanks and changed to tropicals again (after a
break of 35 years!). |
Tanks are bought on the boot mkts and I make my own hoods from wood, using the latest
compact low cost flourescent units. Power filters are reconditioned units
fitted with extention tubes (home made) to circulate water better. Living
in Norfolk with tap water at 8 ph! I am limiting fish to those suited to hard
water. As you can see, plant growth is prolific!Vallisinaria has grown to 3 ft in
2 months!! |
I now have 1x3ft,1x18inch, and various small tanks includind a 24x8x8 which has been
set up as the "hospital" tank. The tanks were started with a few White
cloud minnows, which now number 15, a pair of Dwarf honey gouramies 6 high fin
l;eopard danios, 4 longfin zebra danios, 4 corydoras,2 hi-fin platies and a couple
of guppies. I have set up a water but and cleaned the roof down, and hope
to get some decent softer water in the near future. Photos taken with Olympus camedia
C960 Zoom digital camera. No special settings, some with flash, set on HQ. |
