My conservatory tank contains 3 Spine Sticklebacks and a plec, the 3 spines are very
interesting fish to keep and observe already breeding after only two weeks
of captivity, and are very tame, feeding from the hand. |

Correction! I did have a plec, but the sticklebacks ATE IT! So be warned. DO NOT keep any other fish with sticklebacks I do not recommend more than one male and maybe 2 females to a tank, as they are VERY territorial when breeding. |
Since making this page (July 2001) I have returned the sticklebacks to the local
dyke, in very fat breeding condition ! This was due to the thought that I was being
cruel as they were attacking each other due to the cramped space (for a wild
fish). I had 18 in a 3 foot tank. They certainly paid for thier food with the
pleasure of studying them. |
