In November I was active as XU7AAV from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This included a single operator, low power, all band entry in the CQWW CW Contest.

20 March 2001

In February I was active as DU3/G4ZVJ primarily in the FOC Marathon contest from the QTH of Chuck, DU3NXE. In March I was QRV as 9M6AAC from Sabah, East Malaysia including activity in the RSGB Commonwealth Contest. Operated from the Hillview Gardens Club Station. QSLs for 9M6AAC via N2OO please. Busy working on QSL backlog now - please be patient !

15 January 2001

During February and March I will be in S.E. Asia again with planned activity from DU3/G4ZVJ, XU7AAV and maybe some other spots.

October/November 2000 Trip

I was issued with the call 3W2VJ in Saigon but the licence was only for 20 and 15 metres which was disappointing. I decided to go to Cambodia earlier than planned and made over 1000 CW QSO's during my short stay there.

5 October 2000

I will be travelling on vacation in South East Asia between 12 October - 11 November.  Hopefully I will be able to get on the air for some CW activity from : ( subject to change)

23/10 - 26/10            Cambodia      XU7AAV

29/10 - 10/11            Philippines    DU3/G4ZVJ

If possible, emphasis will be on WARC bands and 80metres.

It appears that the DL7DF group DX-pedition to Togo has been issued with the same callsign as me !  They announced on 20 Sep 2000 that they would use the callsign 5V7DF.   Surely a mix up at the Togo PTT !!   a big surprise to me !

24 September 2000

Working on  5V7VJ  labels now. QSL cards should arrive from the printer next week. Also clearing backlog of other QSLs (XU7 / XW2 / S21 / ET3 / 9G5 etc). All direct  9G5VJ cards have been answered.

22 September 2000

Arrived back in England from Togo / Ghana. Made 15083 CW QSOs from Togo as  5V7VJ  and 1140 CW QSOs from Ghana as  9G5VJ.

12 September 2000

Arrived in Accra Ghana - hope to be active on CW from 9G5VJ and possibly from Togo as 5V7VJ
