New Project Information
This page shows my work to date on a new project which will be housed in a Heathkit SB-
I am making extensive use of Sprint Layout V6 to produce the printed circuit board layouts which are then manufactured by a commercial supplier. Sprint has an extremely short learning curve and I am now able to create basic PCB layouts with about 50 components and based on my old graph paper method in a couple of days.

Input selector and changeover module
Contains two separately selectable 12dB attenuators, one high speed changeover reed relay (circa 1mS), preselector on/off selector, receiver auxilliary aerial selector and a transverter selector. All switching is active low with isolating diodes for wired-
Analog VFO
This is the first of three interlinked modules providing an analog VFO with mode offset and RIT/XIT facilities
Wideband IF Amplifier with AGC
This module provides about 110dB of gain with PIN diode AGC, signal splitter, additional amplifier and detector to drive the AGC system. The wide bandwidth enables a fast AGC response. The signal splitter provides a low impedance feed to a number of mode filters immediately prior to the three mode detectors.
