G4FKH's HF Forecast | Propagation charts and graphs based on the UK, and updated monthly. |
RSGB Propagation | This page contains links to most of the web's propagation resources. If it isn't here, its not written yet ! |
DX.QSL.NET | A great propagation resource centre, with maps, charts, solar images, and dynamic reports, frequently updated. |
Solar Terrestrial Dispatch | The 'secret weapon' of top contesters. See real-time 160m forecasts,Ionospheric maps, Solar Activity status, and other resources. |
Sunspotcyle.Com | All about Sunspots and the Solar Cycle: news, history, photos and animations - sponsored by NASA. |
HF Radio.Org | Lots and lots of propagation information - forecasts, maps, explanations, plus a propagation report service, which will email you when conditions change ! |
Geoclock | One of the most useful shareware programs available for the Ham operator. GeoClock shows the current time (based on your computer's clock) with a high quality map of the earth. The current sun position is displayed, and the parts of the earth in sunlight and twilight are highlighted. This display is automatically updated every few seconds. Local sunrise, sunset, the sun's azimuth and elevation, and times around the world are also displayed. A variety of map backgrounds and other options are available, including a special HAM package, though this requires registration. DOS/Win3/9x. |
Mapmaker's SunClock | A PC application and a useful screen saver - keeps you in touch with the sun and the moon, and your colleagues round the globe. Time zones, GrayLine, phases of the moon, solar and lunar eclipses and now with stars and planets. The locations on the earth's surface where the sun and moon are over head are now indicated. Three screen savers in one: Sun clock, the night sky, and a large format clock. |
PA3CQR's GreyLine Program | An interesting greyline program that calculates possible propagation-paths for a given day of the year, and matches results against the DXCC table. |
BeaconClock | Gives an on-screen, real time sked of times, frequencies, and bearings for each beacon from your QTH. Freeware for Win9x/NT/2k |
Beacon Wizard | KU5S's software runs while listening to the IARU/NCDXF beacons. Other progation software available here too - its well worth a look. |
DX Atlas | A very comprehensive electronic Ham atlas that links in with a number of other Ham programs. Prefixes, Gazetteers, Gray Line, Ionospheric, and lots of other features. Must be registered after 30 days. Requires PII/166Mhz/32MB. |
SM3GSJ | GcmWin - a program to create great-circle maps. Very versatile. Interesting add-ons. Runs on Win-xx, with a C++ version also available. |
WM7D | A great circle projection map server. Includes online creation, sample maps, and the 'Most Wanted Grid Project', to help you plan your next DXpedition. |
OK2PBQ | Another on-line map server, that produces a Great Circle map with prefixes, an Azimuthal Equidistant Map (i.e. a square great-circle !) and a full DXCC country list with bearings and path info. Well worth a visit. |
Magnetic Deviation | Need to know what the Magnetic Deviation is for any place on earth, at any date ? This site will tell you. |
The Aurora Page | Information, links, forecasts, maps and images all about the Aurora. |
Solar Terrestrial Dispatch | Vist their Ham Radio section for more on 160m propagation, ionospheric, solar and geophysical summaries; plus a check on auroral activity. |
Current Solar Forecast | A full report of solar-geophysical activity, updated regularly, and brought to you by the Space Enviroment Centre. |
Solar Terrestrial Activity Report | Charts, data, flare info and other recent developments in the sky, courtesy of Jan Alvestad. |
AD5Q Propagation Forecast | Propagation forecast archive from August 1995 to January 1999. What a shame its not being continued. |
NCDXF/IARU Beacon Network | All you want to know about the International Beacon Network, with information, maps, links, and resources. |
HFx Propagation Prediction Tool | A Windows-based propagation prediction application, HFx calculates ionospheric skywave signal strength from 2 to 30 MHz. Not Freeware. Demo available for download. |
W6ELPROP | A free propagation program which predicts ionospheric (sky-wave) propagation between any two locations on the earth on frequencies between 3 and 30 MHz. Used by some of the world's top contesters. Win9x/ME/2000/NT. |
