Mast cradle with strut welded in position, all this work had to be done at this stage due to size of galvanizing tank, also to avoid risk of damage to projecting parts

The 3 sections of mast were balanced on the stem plate to get a reasonable center of gravity

After tacking the stem post in position I gave Ski EI9GQ and one of the lads at work a call to give us a lift positioning the mast before final welding

Due to the strain on the base of the stem post we decided to brace this unit also

The base is now being welded in position, it will also be bolted down to the frame for added security

Next stage is to work out correct procedure for cranking up the tower, then a cage will have to be made to hold the rotator, thanks to Paraic EI7IR for ideas

Due to being back at work after the summer, the work is done during weekends only
