CUT THE EXTRAS, ITS ABOUT SAM.
by: DU1UYZ

Hello to all!!! de dy1uyz, om Ross, greeting all of you a nice and pleasant day! I've been fascinated from the ingenuity of Morse code since I was about 9 yrs. old. During that time when I even don't know about ham radio, one of my fantasies before was to learn its art. To gain the power and feeling of knowing something that not too many people understand. Unfortunately, I didn't have the generosity of time to learn and study telegraphy. I was engaged in different sets of activities in my youth, and I have come to think of where to use it in case that I learn Morse code. Well, it didn't took me that long until finally, someone introduced me to the hobby. I have to cut the extras, this article is about Samuel Morse and Morse code, so here goes:

Samuel Finley Breese Morse (1791-1872) is a U.S. painter and inventor. He abandoned his career as a successful portrait painter because he believed the U.S. market is too limited. From the early 1830's, he worked for several years to perfect the the electric telegraph before erecting the first telegraph line, between Washington and Baltimore (1844). Messages were sent by a system of dots and dashes that he had invented for a purpose (Morse code- code for transmitting telegraph message. each letter of the alphabet and number has a characteristic sequence of dots and dashes, short and long pulses, a dash being three times as long as a dot).
       The first message
"What hath God wrought!" was particularly appropriate because the telegraph revolutionized communications.
