A sincere "Welcome" to my web site!

The callsign pirate who abused from my call has not been reported any more. Nevertheless, I am qsl-ing all contacts, and my present QSL card looks as follows:

the scenic picture taken by myself  in May 2003 shows the lighthouse of BIELENBERG on River Elbe, near the little port of Kolmar on the Northern shore, about half way between Hamburg and the North Sea.

A short C.V.:

Born 1944 in Hamburg, I attended a rather old-fashioned high school which I terminated with appropriate graduation in 1964 whereafter I voluntarily enlisted in the "Bundeswehr" (Federal German Army) Signal Corps. Specialty instruction was on wireless (cw and rtty), later also special systems. I was commissioned 1966.

Emigrating to Portugal (CT1) in 1968, I married my dear wife there in 1969; I worked mainly in shipping and certain periods in the aviation business as well. I held the Class 1 call CT1AJW. We got two daughters born 1975 and 1978 who now live on their own.

In 1984 we came to Hamburg where I continued in shipping and trading until voluntarily retiring from work in 2000.

We now live in a small town bordering the state of Hamburg, in the state of Schleswig-Holstein which is having a common border with the Kingdom of Denmark, on a territory which until 1865 was part of Denmark itself, when Prussia annexed it after faring war against the King of Denmark.

My hobbies are - of course - radio and electronics, preferring digital and written modes, not being fond of the mike any more; also, my interests are photography, European history and genealogical research as due to war and postwar events I lost trace of part of my roots. I hold degrees of Ph.D. (history), LL.B. (laws) and M.E.C. (Master of Electronic Communication), apart from still being reserve officer of the Signals.
