Hello, my name is Frank and I live in Cologne, Germany. I'm a Radio Amateur since 1996. I was 16 years old when i made my first license
and got the callsign DG 2 KLF. This was an VHF/UHF - License. After one year i
upgraded to the german novice class HF-License. You just needed to handle the speed of 30 BPM (6 WPM) for it.. Now I was DH 2 KLF, and allowed to work on 80m,15m and 10m Bands with 150W, but not very long. I think it was just some months later and I got to the full HF-Licence, by improving my Morse skills up to 60 BPM or (12 WPM).

My Favourites:
At the beginning I did 99% of my QSO's in CW
because I like CW very much. Beeing able to communicate with people all over the world, just with this short and long beeps, is something fascinating. Some people say it's primitive and old fashioned but for me that is what makes it so interessting: It's simple! Then I went to another school and my time for Amateur Radio decreased. So nowadays I'm on HF in SSB and CW, and prefer the 20m,15m and 10m Bands. But my special interest ist ATV. I have a homemade transmitter for 23cm (1.2 GHz) and use some old satellite-receivers as receivers. Unfourtunately I'm only able to receive one ATV-Relay in Cologne. About 3 or 4 times in the year I am a speaker for the local newsletter which is transmitted on 80m, 2m and ATV.
My other Hobby is Photography. I prefer traditional Black and White film or color slides. As you see at the pictures I don’t have a digital camera.
