Meeting Notice

CKARC meets the last Friday of each month at Kansas Wesleyan University’s Peters Science Hall, corner of 4th and Cloud Streets.  Eyeball QSO at 6:30 PM.  Meeting starts at 7:30 PM. 

 ARES Meeting

The Amateur Radio Emergency Service monthly meeting is held on the THIRD THURSDAY of each month in the EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICE at 8:00PM.

  Board Meeting

The CKARC board meets the second WEDNESDAY of each month at the SALINE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE at 10th & Park Streets immediately after the testing session.  All members are welcome to attend.

  VE Testing

Volunteer testing (VE) is held on the second Wednesday of each month at the Sheriff’s Department training room, corner of 10th & Park Streets at 7:00 PM.  Persons wishing to take a test for either a new license or an upgrade should bring a photo ID, a copy of their current license, if any, and any CSCE’s they may have. Pre-registration is preferred, but walk-ins are perfectly acceptable.

 Noon Lunch

Every Wednesday at the Coyote Canyon near the Central Mall.  Let the server know you want the ‘radio club’ and the server will be sure you get there.

The Amateur’s Code

The Radio Amateur is:

CONSIDERATE.. never knowingly operates in such a way as to lessen the pleasure of others.

LOYAL. Offers loyalty, encouragement and support to other amateurs, local clubs, and the American Radio Relay League, through which Amateur Radio in the United States is represented nationally and internationally.

PROGRESSIVE. With the knowledge abreast of science, a well-built and efficient station and operation above reproach.

FRIENDLY. Slow and patient operating when requested; friendly advice and counsel to the beginner; kindly assistance and cooperation and consideration for eh interests of other.  These are the hallmarks of the amateur spirit.

BALANCED. Radio is an avocation, never interfering with duties owed to family, job, school, or community.

PATRIOTIC. Station and skills always ready for service to country and community.
