January 12th, 2011 Meeting Minutes

Bryan, VA3BRY, brought the meeting to order.

 

M.S. Neil, VE3VNM—Alf, VE3EFT the minutes of the November 10, 2010 Meeting be adopted as read.  Carried.

 

Old Business:

 

Scott, VA3EXT, will be going to Ignace to repair the repeater there.  No dates for Sioux Lookout.  He plans to go down to Bearpaw repeater in the spring.  In the meantime, the Blackhawk repeater does provide coverage along the Fort Frances highway 502.  Camp Robinson repeater is working, but range is poor.

 

M.S. Scott, VA3EXT--Neil, VE3VNM, the financial statement as at December 23, 2010 be adopted as read.  Carried.

 

New Business:

 

Feb 19, the provincial Family Day, is the date for the dog sled races at Eton Rugby.

 

The Trillium Application has been turned down for the second time.  Bryan has asked for more information on how he can improve the application from the program manager, but hadn’t received a reply by meeting time.

 

Scott, VA3EXT, reported on moving the IRLP repeater from Dick VA3DIK’s QTH to the basement of the Fire Hall.  The coverage is down, however, come spring, Scott plans to do some antenna work that will help improve the range. Warren is working on a repeater site at Huronian (between Atikokan and Thunder Bay)

 

Scott also presented a demonstration of the information available to members on QRZ.com’s call sign website.

 

M.S. Neil, VE3VNM—Bob, VE3YDN, the club sell the club decals for $2.00 each to club members.  Carried.

 

Dave, VE3LMU, moved the meeting adjourn.

 

Jim, VE3JLN won the 50-50 draw.
