The only TNC's that I use and the way I have them setup, (Not that there aren't other good TNC's that can be used for APRS):
Kantronics Kam+ Version 6.1 E-Prom
Use The Unproto Path Of APRS VIA GATE,WIDE / APRS VIA WIDE,WIDE To make the TNC transmit Gate Wide on the HF side, And Wide Wide on the VHF side. The First APRS VIA is already set up in the program as a default
StartUp Files For KAM+ InitHF.tnc
Restore Files For KAM+ Restore.tnc or ExitHF.tnc
Kantronics KPC-3 Version 8.2 E-Prom
Use The Unproto Path Of APRS VIA WIDE,WIDE (If You Can Hit A Wide Digi) Use The Unproto Path Of APRS VIA RELAY,WIDE (If You Can Not Hit A Wide Digi) Remember that the APRS VIA is already set up in the program
