Precursor to the famous ARC-5 series of aircraft radios.  This is a TRF ( tuned radio frequency ) receiver, covering AM only in two ranges:  low range: 201 to 398 khz  high range: 2500 to 4700 khz with the C-379 coil unit.  Other coils sets were available covering various frequency ranges.  There is no BFO.  This radio was built in 1939, and looks like it just came from the factory!
