An image of the Sun at a wavelength of 3 mm, observed with the NRAO 12 Meter Telescope at Kitt Peak, AZ on July 12 1991. This image has been enhanced to show more clearly the structure of emission within the solar disk. This structure reflects mainly the temperature of solar active regions, regions of enhanced magnetic activity. A similar image obtained the previous day had shown very similar structure, although displaced a little because of solar rotation.
