The Sun at 3 mm wavelength, July 12 1991

An image of the Sun at a wavelength of 3 mm, observed with the NRAO 12 Meter Telescope at Kitt Peak, AZ on July 12 1991. On the previoius day, there had been a solar prominence visible on the western (right) limb of the Sun, but this has now disappeared. On the eastern limb a new prominence has appeared. The structure within the solar disk is much more stable, and is very similar to that observed the previous day.
