As with the 40m Micro-Mountaineer, this rig was designed by Wes Hayward, W7ZOI.
It incorporates a 14.060 MHz crystal and is enclosed in a "bullet-proof" cast aluminum enclosure that I scrounged from my junk box. The top of the enclosure is regular aluminum and the bottom is the PCB which holds the circuit.
The rig puts out 650mW. It took every bit of my "ugly construction" skills to squeeze the components onto a 3.5x2 workspace, but it works well and I have had several DX QSOs with the rig already.
Components and boards can be purchased from Kanga USA.
Wes Hayward no longer has a page at his web site dedicated to the Micro-mountaineer. Feel free to contact me, if you have any questions regarding this neat little radio.
