44th World Scout Jamboree On the Air (JOTA)

 

YMCA ARC (9M2YMC) was at Penang Hill from 19th October until 21st October 2001 at Woodside bungalow to coincide with the 44th World Scout JOTA.

 

Summary

9M2YMC went on air at Penang Hill (Woodside Bungalow) at about 9.30pm on 19/10/2001.

9M2YMC station made many contacts with  many JOTA stations in the country and foriegn countries such as Australia and Indonesia using SSB and also CW mode. The station also stoodby on 2m simplex with JOTA station at Bkt Mertajam around the clock for scouts to make QSO.

9M2YMC operated by See Fung (9M2SF) also took over as the 40m net controller on Sunday (21/10/2001) since there was no net controller on duty.

The station at Penang Hill was dismantled at 12.00noon on 21/10/2001.
