Fabian was first licensed in late 1997 as DG9YFK (CEPT II) and upgraded in March 1998 to
CEPT I, signing DJ1YFK since then. He is active in CW only on all bands but 6m from 136 kHz (LF) up to 144 MHz and
enjoys both Contesting and DXing as well as rag-chewing and QRPing and homebrewing. He is a
member of several telegraphy-clubs including the QRQ-clubs HSC, VHSC and SHSC and won
the German High-Speed Telegraphy Championship in 2000 and 2002.
Having operated from TF and OY in summer 2001, he already got some practice in handling pileups,
but 8Q7ZZ was his first real DXpedition.
Fabian is currently visiting the 12th grade on highschool and after gradution he plans to study
physics or electrical engineering.
Other hobbies are juggling, music, physics/electronics in general and computers.
