Our 2 meter antenna is a home-brew loop. It is constructed of ½” copper water pipe. The pipe pieces were cut to 21” in length. 90 degree elbows were used to connect the 4 sides together and then soldered.

The feed point is a Gamma match made from ¼” copper tubing, cut to length, and the capacitor is made from #12 wire. It is insulated using packing tape wrapped around the wire to make a snug fit within the copper tube. It is then bent to meet the SO-239 connector.

The SO-239 connector is soldered to a grove filed in the center of the bottom side, and the feed to the Gamma is soldered to the center pin on the connector.

How well does it work? I can hit any repeater from El Paso, Texas to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico to the north, and Alamogordo, New Mexico to the east. This while running 10 watts output, the maximum output of my FT-480R.
