This section describes how to get DXSummit dx spots via packet radio. *************** Yes, that is true: You can get DX-Summit's DX Spots or submit your own spots into DX-Summit also via packet radio, with no Internet connection costs! This can be done by connecting to a special node (named CQDX-IRC) via a radio gateway. The requirements are: 1) An internet radio gateway in your area, supporting the telnet command (even if it supports telnets only to ampr.org domains) 2) A TAPR TNC (or WA8DED) in terminal command mode (not host nor KISS) 3) The DX-TNC application Which is an application included in the DXTelnet package ( http://www.qsl.net/wd4ngb/telnet.htm ) In DX-TNC you can create a connection script to reach the CQDX-IRC node. DX-TNC then embeds the IRC protocol so that the node traffic is readable as if it came from a classic cluster! Moreover the dx spots flow on CQDX-IRC real time, so you don't have to wait for any web refresh! Please email me to receive the DX-TNC script details, which depends on your connection path to the gateway. My email is [email protected] You can download DX-Telnet (which includes DX-TNC) from: http://www.qsl.net/wd4ngb/telnet.htm I connect to CQDX-IRC daily via packet radio. Enjoy! ...............................
