This is the JNOS BBS computer and UPS. The computer is a 200 MHz pentium that is only running DOS. I did have it running Linux for a while but had some problems and not enough time to figure them out. The JNOS/DOS setup has run flawlessly since September of 1999. Usually the only time I take it off-line is to upgrade the software version of JNOS. The JNOS system has a one radio port that is linked to an internet gateway so it provides e-mail and some telnet service to amateur packet users. See the BBS info area for more information on this system.

The UPS is a BIG one. I picked it up at the 2000 Dayton hamvention. I weighs at least one hundred pounds or more. Haven't actually put it on a scale but it is one heavy sucker! I can't find any specifications on it but when I opened it up, I found that it has 7-12 volt, 7 amp hour batteries. I think it will keep the computer and monitor up for a few hours. It was a military unit and the original papers were still taped to it. Original cost to the government was over $4000.00 . I picked it up in the flea market for $75.00 .
