I, Joe Lyddon, received the following email out of the clear blue sky: Subject: Frederick August Abken Date: Sun, 7 Dec 2003 00:27:02 +0100 From: "Lloyd Stuart Chaffey III" To: [email protected] Hello, My name is Lloyd Stuart Chaffey III. I am the great-grandson of August Henry Abken of Hamburg, Germany. He is the brother of your grandfather Frederick August Abken. This makes us second cousins. I am currently in the Army stationed in Germany and am trying to find information on the Abken side of my family. Do you know who their father or grand-father was? Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lloyd Emails continued. . . I found your web site on Marion Abken. That is where I got your email address. After I sent it I found the other page on how the Abkens came to America. That page was a great help and answered a lot of questions. I have attached a copy of my great-grandfather's descendant file. I was born July 23, 1970 in Anaheim, CA. I moved to Wisconsin in 1975. I joined the (US) Army in 1988 and have been in since. I have spent most of my time stationed at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, TX. I have also spent a year in Korea and almost three years in the Middle East. I am currently stationed in Hanau, Germany (about 20 miles east of Frankfurt). I will be here for three more years. Henry came to America in 1911. He married Paula Kokor and had two children: Henry Jr. and Helen. Helen married Lloyd Stuart Chaffey and had three sons: Michael, Wayne and Lloyd II. Helen currently lives in Paradise, Ca. Michael and Wayne each have children and grand-children. Lloyd married Barbara Eagleton and had five children: Heather, Lloyd III, Timothy, Holly and Becky. I married Maricela Corral and have two children: Amanda and Lloyd IV. . . . and more. . . I would love to go to the reunion sometime. I haven't seen my grandma Helen in a long time. Let me know when the next one is scheduled. I copied and pasted the text in to this message. The formatting isn't the greatest though. Click here to see The file he attached . . . There was more . . . Would you mind if I put that information onto my Web Page? Is it already on the internet somewhere? If so, I can just add a Link to my Page. I don't mind. I have a lot of information and pictures on my genealogy web site. It needs to be updated though.
