Hi I am the operator of the european weather map network AWEKAS - www.awekas.at I am looking about weather stations on my map. Your site is verry interesting. If you also wont to be a member of AWEKAS you only have to register and post the datafile on your website (or already exists). Its realy easy. Look in our help forum: http://www.awekas.at/forum/viewforum.php?f=7&language=english (Weather Display, Virtual Weather Station Weather Link already supports AWEKAS directly) A view stations from USA are already registered : http://www.awekas.at/en/mitgliederkarte.php?karte=us&action=zoom&zoom=20&x=2500&y=2200 Greetings from Europe Othmar Gattringer Operator of AWEKAS www.awekas.at

Passing along observations from Al WA2DGV and myself: I noticed same thing; threw my call out, nothing. 30 seconds later, two guys start a QSO; and at least ONE HAD to be on air when I keyed up. So much for "spirit of ham radio!" I still try... Interesting hearing your Elk Mountain/Carbondale, PA repeater here in Scranton, PA. I've tried all the PLs to transmit into the system. OK, I see you're on 114 Hz, so I'll stop spending watt-hours on the others. I'll try, but I think I'm going to need a lot more power to get into the system from here. On a tangent, even on nice days, Scranton is gray and dreary. Thanks; I feel better now. Best luck, -Neil / ne3j-

Hi. I was scanning around the 70cm band tonight (11/25/04)and on 447.575 I heard a couple of fellows ragchewing, talking about the wide area coverage of this system. I then tried to transmit, but no joy. I tried both pls as indicated on your web site. From my QTH in Astoria, Queens I usually have no problem hitting Manhattan repeaters with my ht. I'm wondering what I am doing wrong. My offset is the standard 5.0 mHz. Thanks and Happy Holidays! 73 de KC2LMH (Jim)

Hello WB2BQW! I was checking local bad weather propagation conditions today, and called in to the repeater. I met KB2VNB (Tom) and KC2ENS (Roy) - really nice guys. Both mentioned (as I had noticed) that the repeater output lacked low frequency audio - everybody sounds all highs. Stronger stations actually distort the output. It's probably just an adjustment. Terrific coverage!

Hi Paul. The main site is on Skunnemunk Mountain near New Windsor but there are 20 recievers and 8 simulcast transmitters that cover a large area. I'm a bit slow on getting the coverage page completed on this web sit but when it is completed you will have a better idea of our coverage. 73 Tom KB2VNB

Since I live in New Windsor I am wondering where in New Windsor your weather station is located. I have a weather station also but I don't have it linked to the net. I live within a quarter mile of the Hudson. The river combined with my lower elevation as compared to much of New Windsor can give me some rather different readings than those at Stewart Airport.
