RME-45 HF Transciever .5 through 33 Mc

This one was made in Peoria Il, in the forties. I have an ARRL handbook showing an ad for this and the accessories in my shack from 1947. I will put a scanned copy of the ad here when I can get to it. It uses a large knob to smoothly turn two seperate tuning dials...the big half-moon dark one on the top (divided into 5 segmented sections), and the smaller brighter indicator in the centor just above the knob (which shows 1Khz fine tuning).

I almost mised this one at TRW one weekend. As I was leaving, I looked into the back of an OM's camper and I saw the grey hammer-tone finish peering from behind some other junque. I moved the offending items to the side, and saw this beauty and it's big half-moon glass dial. After some quick haggling, it became apparent that I was going to be hauling it back to my car. While looking for a manual, I learned of the elusive matching speaker and the 152 2/6/10m matching converter. They all cleaned up nicely and will be the next items across the bench before going on the air.
