I love building my own equipment.  Alongside of my operating site, I have a full blown experimenting and building bench.  I have designed and built stepper controls for the loop antennas. 80- through 6 transceivers and PC transceiver interface modules, for SSTV, PSK31 and other things. I became really tired of having to crawl under the table to shang out serial connections.. Solution: I found a parallel outlet switchbox with four parallel connectors plus the main on the rear. I went to the store, got four geneder changers, and now have a serial switchbox for my handheld pc, the TNC, the PSK31 and the Digital Camera.  No fooling around again in the rear of the computer.  I liked that so much, I did the same for the parallel port to feed Canon Printer, Scanner, Fastmove cable to another computer, and the Zip drive.
