It's time for BLT-14 - THE TEST

This project has a REALLY short fuse...

The package is a prototype rocket payload built by Tim Sargent KD5DTW, that could use a good test to the edge of space via balloon. It includes a Garmin GPS-25 Global Positioning System receiver coupled to a 70-cm XCVR on 440.950 MHz (100 mW to a vertical ground plane) using a KPC-3 TNC. The AX.25 packet signal is also routed to the audio subcarrier of the HATS 1255 MHz FM ATV XMTR (1 W to a horizontal dipole). The package has a color video camera for the TV signal. There are two "beeper" temperature beacons, one on 28.322 MHz and another on 50.000 MHz. They run 20-50 mW to vertical dipoles. The fifth harmonic of the 10-meter beacon is on 141.610 MHz for those that prefer 2-meter DF'ing.
There will be a final integration/test meeting at WA5TWT - Mike's house at 8:30 PM on Wednesday, November 4th. Talk-in is on the Houston 146.700 MHz repeater.

Pictures from left to right show the payload, the GPS-25 RCVR, Tim and the package, and finally another view of the package.
