This is an open repeater system supported by private individuals. The site 443.625 is NE of HSV on Monte-Sano Mtn, ~1600' above sea level (~600 HAAT) and located on a 130' tower. It is a GE MASTR II UHF repeater. This is 110W into a TX/RX duplexer to the feed line. The controller is a ACC RC85 supporting auto patch, cw & digital voice ID. The antenna is an ARX-270 with 1/2" hard-line and an ARR preamp (~16 dB gain). The machine has a 50 mile range at the outer limits which includes Alabama coverage of Huntsville, Madison, Decatur, Morgan City, Athens, Scottsboro, Guntersville and across the Tennessee border, 20 miles to our north. The UHF GE Phoenix remote base gives us access to other local repeaters. It is often linked to a UHF network of repeaters in Tennessee up to Nashville and other Southern Tennessee cities. It can also link into my Echolink node 316599 which runs Echotime Plus. This provides up to date weather conditions and weather warnings. W4XE ã 2005
