    Repeater Information

Frequency/Tone
The Skint Chestnut Amateur Radio Society 2 Meter repeater operates on a frequency pair of 145.110/144.510.  The repeater is equipped with a sub-audible tone unit to eliminate the possibility of non-amateur radio signals activating the repeater.  The SCARS repeater tone frequency is 88.5 hz.

Location
The repeater is located at an elevation of 1170 feet on a tower at a height of approximately 300 feet  in the city of Douglasville, Ga.

Coverage
Coverage of the 145.110 repeater is difficult to judge because of the variations in height of the area terrain.  The repeater provides coverage of the entire Douglas County area and portions of Atlanta.  Six Flags Hill and other local terrain features limit line-of-sight propagation into the western Atlanta Metro Area but positive reports have been received from as far in as the Zoo.  The club welcomes feedback concerning repeater coverage and would appreciate signal reports from all areas.
