About Me

I am a retired Supervisory Electronics Engineer.  I worked for the Federal Government for 37 years including 4 years in the US Air Force.  I started out in the Air Force as an Aircraft Radio Repairman and then cross trained into the Precision Measurement Equipment (PME) field.  After my tour in the Air Force I worked for RCA (and the Air Force) as a PME Technician at Newburg AFB NY and Niagara Falls AFB NY .  When the Air Force decided to convert from Contract Civilians to Federal Civil Service Employees at Niagara Falls I changed over to Civil Service.  I was one of the first civilian employees to graduate from the PME school at Lowery AFB Colorado.  I later had a chance to relocate (as an Electronic Technician) to Rome Air Development Center at Griffiss AFB, NY.  I graduated from Syracuse University in 1974 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics.  Based on my degree, additional electronic training and electronics background the government classified me as an Electronics Engineer.  I also received a Certificate in Advanced Management from the State University of New York.  Rome Air Development Center eventually became know as Rome Laboratory, one of four Air Force Super Labs and then as the Air Force Information Directorate.  In 1984 I was promoted to Supervisory Engineer (GM-14) and served as the Deputy Chief of the Electronics Systems Engineering Division and Chief of the Electromagnetic Systems Evaluation Office.  I retired from Rome Laboratory on Oct. 27, 1994.

Since retirement I have devoted most of my time to playing golf, ham radio, "playing" with my computer, visiting my kids, (Patty and Matt, who both live down south), wood working, digital photography (a new hobby) and trying to keeping one step ahead of my wife's "honey do" list.
