* Changes and Dates Under Review |

NASA managers have targeted space shuttle Discovery's launch for no
earlier than Feb. 3 at 1:34 a.m. EST. Shuttle managers determined more
tests and analysis are needed before proceeding with the launch of the
STS-133 mission to the International Space Station. The Program Requirements Control Board met Thursday and reviewed engineering evaluations associated with cracks on two 21-foot-long, U-shaped aluminum brackets, called stringers, on the shuttle's external tank. NASA repaired the cracks and reapplied foam to the exterior of the stringers. [03 Dec 2010] |
Assembly Sequence
For future flights in the ISS
assembly process, see the
Consolidated
Launch Manifest. See NASA's
Assembly
Sequence and
Expedition Crews for the International Space Station. A graphical
image gallery shows the current assembly progress (as seen from the
shuttle flights). |
Notes on Times: All times are given in 24-hour (or "military") time in the United States Eastern Time Zone. During daylight savings (April to October), Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) is 4 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), or Universal Coordinated Time (UTC). The rest of the year times are given in Eastern Standard Time (EST), which is 5 hours later than UTC. In 24-hour time, midnight is 0000 hours, and noon is 1200 hours. One hour after noon is 1300, or 1:00 pm. US Central Time (CST/CDT) need to subtract one hour. MST/MDT is 2 hours earlier, and PST/PDT 3 hours. |

Amateur Radio on the International Space Station | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
SASE = Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope; SAE = Self-Addressed Envelope (use IRC's for postage) Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) [Amateur Radio onboard the International Space Station] started on 13 November 2000 with test contacts with ground stations in Russia and the United States. School contacts are scheduled to resume with contacts with the ISS. SAREX (Shuttle Amateur Radio Experiment) was an older program in which school contacts were made from radio stations aboard the Space Shuttle. SAREX missions are no longer planned. Mir QSOs terminated when the Russian Mir Space Station was abandoned in the spring of 2000. Mir has since been de-orbited. Click Here for NASA's reference page on amateur radio on the International Space Station (ARISS). ARISS Status (from ARRL) For those interested in
scheduling an ARISS contact for a local school, contact the ARRL. |
