I have led a good life. My family has always been fortunate enough to have food on the table, we have always had a roof over our heads. I have all this to be grateful for. But what I consider to be the biggest blessing that Almighty Allah has bestowed upon me, is that I was born a Muslim.
I thank Almighty Allah for giving me the capacity to explore and find the real Islam. Through Allah's guidance, my parents taught me. Islam is the answer to every person's troubles. Let's not be living examples of horrid misconceptions and lies about Islam - let's be examples that will invite Non-Muslims to learn about the real Islam.
we should study the Quran and learn about peace, love, forgiveness, brotherhood. Islam is not about wars, fighting, killing and manipulation. It does not instruct men to oppress women. Our Prophet never fought a war unless it was to defend himself or innocent people. Our prophet forgave all his enemies and even those who brutally murdered his uncle. Our Prophet stood up for women's rights like no one has done in history. Islam made alimony compulsory more than 1400 yrs ago.
The Quran is such a wealth of knowledge - can anyone take up God's challenge to produce a greater verse? The most amazing and comforting aspect of Islam is that it satisfies a thirst for answers that exists in every human being. In Islam, be not afraid to ask or to question because that which is perfect and flawless will always give you the answer. Islam is God's gift to mankind - naturally, it is forever fresh and modern; it never fails to keep up with the times.
Islam makes sense to the learned. Scientists, professionals are awed by it. The Quran is a precious treasure for those who love to think and to search. It is a wealth of peace for those who seek it.
ISLAM, IN ITS TRUEST FORM, AND NOT THE DISTORTED VERSIONS THAT THE MEDIA PORTRAYS AND NAMESAKE MUSLIMS PRACTISE, PRESENTS US WITH IMMENSE REASON TO TRUST IT AND BELIEVE IN IT.
Islam is gaining more and more supporters today...the majority of whom are highly educated converts and it is far from surprising. Islam makes sense, it is LOGICAL.
Islam does not make me doubt because it has proven to be perfect in every aspect. Islam, the religion has proven itself and because it makes so much sense, I believe in it.
The use of the word modern is not to connote changing Islam to suit modern times. It is called modern because the Islam, revealed 1400 years ago is still applicable as a solution to modern problems of today like AIDS, single parenthood, poverty, violence, racism and sexism. Islam is the way of life that continues to remain suitable because the values and prescriptions are timeless and universal.
Dear Brothers & Sisters in Humanity:
Islam teaches that our CREATOR has given human beings the faculty of reason. Therefore, it is incumbent upon them to reason things objectively and systematically for themselves to ponder, to question and to reflect.
Nobody should press you to make a hasty decision to accept any of the teachings of Islam, for Islam teaches that human beings should be given the freedom to choose, even when a person is faced with the Truth, there is no compulsion upon him to embrace it.
But before you begin to form an opinion about Islam, ask yourself whether your existing knowledge about it is thorough enough. Ask yourself whether that knowledge has been obtained through third party sources who themselves have probably been exposed to only random glimpses of Islamic writings and have yet to reason out on Islam objectively and systematically themselves.
Is it fair enough that one should form an opinion about the taste of a particular dish just by a mere hearsay from others who may themselves have not necessarily tasted the dish yet?
Similarly you should find out for yourself about Islam from reliable sources and not only taste it, but rather digest it very well before you form an opinion of it. That would be an intellectual approach to the Truth.
In making your next move to the Truth, Islam continually reassures you that your rights to freedom of choice and freedom to use that God-given faculty of thought and reason will be respected, for everyone has that individual will. No one else can take away that will and force you to submit to the will of our CREATOR, you have to find out and make that decision yourself.
Muslims are encouraged to study other religions and to compare them to Islam. They are commanded to never be among those who accept Islam on blind faith or in conformance to the current trend in their society. Rather, they are commanded to make up their own minds and to enter into Islam with their eyes wide open, after they have thoroughly tested its validity as the command of God.
Prophet Muhammed (Pbuh) only invited his people to embrace Islam and there was never an attempt to force anyone into the religion. Almighty Allah said, "There is no compulsion in religion. Guidance is henceforth distinct from misguidance" The Noble Qur'an, Al-Baqarah(2:256.)
The Viability of Islamic Law to solve the Current Global Problems
The divine nature of Islam makes it the religion in the world that offers genuine solutions to such problems as social unrest, political instabilities, poverty and destitution, prostitution, homicide, killing, drug addiction, alcoholism, family break-up, juvenile delinquency, suicides, AIDS and the like. Islam is not only a religion, but also a complete code of life. All facets of life, public and private alike, are covered under the realm of Islamic Law.
Indeed, the teachings of Islam cater to humanity-at-large. All problems affecting man and his environment can be solved through proper implementation of Islamic Law. But, how can the current global problems be solved through Islam, when Muslims themselves do not implement it? How can we prove to others that we can solve their problems when we ourselves have more problems to solve?
Now that the Muslim society is, in general, at variance with real Islam, it is our duty to help rectify the conditions we are in. Knowing that Islamic Law was effectively implemented before, there is no reason why it cannot be viably carried out now and in the future. By the Grace of Allah , Islamic revival is already in the offing, and Muslim men and women should have strong commitment and conviction to cooperate along this path. Muslims need to think “global” as members of the Ummah. They should be able to break all barriers against their unity and brotherhood. Muslims worldwide should continuously promote cooperation, brotherhood and unity among themselves. Allah says:
“Help one another in righteousness and piety, but help not one another in sin and rancor: fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment.” (Qur’an 5:2)
“The Believers are but a single Brotherhood: so make peace and reconciliation between your two (contending) brothers; and fear Allah that you may receive Mercy.” (Qur’an 49:10)
All of us Muslims, both as is individuals and
as groups, should help carry out the task of Da’wah. We should persistently let the world knew
that Islam is for all mankind. As a
universal religion, it is the best way of life for all. Alhamdullillah (Praise be to
Allah ), the Almighty has guided us to Islam. We should cherish that mercy from
by behaving according to the teachings of Islam. We must strictly adhere to the
Qur’an and Sunnah, so that non-Muslims will learn and appreciate the beauty of Islam.
In other words, reviving the golden age of the Ummah should start at home. We should imbibe in our families the real teachings of Islam, so that we can reassert our identity as Muslims. We should see to it that the immediate members of our families, our daughters, sons and wives, are models of what Muslims should be. At the same time, we should also ask our family members to help convey the message of Islam to others for indeed, Islam is the solution to the world’s perplexing problems. Lets pray to Almighty Allah to make us the best human being on the face of earth by giving us the courage to practice what we say and believe in.
