 I worked on my Mobile APRS System again. The previous system has a Laptop with a sound card, an interface and a 2m handheld. (click for details)

Now, I use a TH-D7, a Palm IIIxe and a serial (RS-232 9 Pin) PDA Keybord. If you have these devices, you don' t need any interface or TNC. You only make your own cable. It is enough to work APRS in your car. You require some 9 pin RS-232 connector, piece of cable. The required wiring schematics are here. If you have a GPS, you should use this schematic.

I haven' t got a GPS yet. But, to see working system, you don' t need to have a GPS.

My system has a handicap. When I run PocketAPRS Software in my Palm, the input data from keyboard and th-d7 (TNC) conflict. If you have/buy an IR keyboard, you will solve this problem. I use that keyboard, when I have a long message to be sent. I quit the PocketAPRS, run Memopad,
then copy-paste the text to PocketAPRS.

You have to find a way to setup the system on your car. I use a GSM holder to hold keyboard and Palm Cradle. To fix the keyboard and cradle I screwed an arm of another GSM holder. Then I put them into two things which is seen on photos.
