... me & my station ...
My name is Grzegorz Gaweł but on bands I'm known as Greg. I was born in 1982 in Olsztyn in NE Poland and I still live here.
I study Landscape Architecture on University here at my city. I enjoy it!

My callsign is SQ4NR and I got it in November 1999 when I've passed the exam. I started in club station SP4KSY here in Olsztyn. Andy SP4HHI learned my sister Maja (SQ4TY now) and me everything what should the begginer knew. Ups... Sorry, we've started our education with some diiiits and daaaahs hi! I'm still active member of this club. I owe a lot to Andy and all the amateurs I've seen there in SP4KSY. It's important that I've got an 'old' ham at home. My father Jurek's (now SP4AXU) told us a lot of stories from the 70's when he was a SWL... Then he gets his license at last in 2000. So I have nice amateur radio family here. We think how to absorb our mother and wife our hobby hi!

After some years on air I improve my operating skills. I know it's far way to be the best but I do my best to get as much fun as I can. Yes... Amateur radio is my hobby so I do it to have a lot of fun and satisfaction.
My favourite mode is CW. I'm not a QRQQQQQ Op. hi! I like CW speed about 30 WPM... A bit slower for ragchew... I'm not good at it (yet:)). But it's not a problem to copy callsigns with higher speed. I didn't check what my record speed is about, sorry.

I enjoy contesting. Last time I'm QRV from our club SP4KSY with SN4R or from Koniewo (60km North from Olsztyn) at Romek SP4JCP and Wojtek SQ4MP QTH. We're active with SP4KEV (club station) or SN4L callsigns. We try to be active as M/M. We have a lot of fun there...

My home equipement is rather poor:
HF trx: Kenwood TS850SAT
QRP 1W TX for 80m
HF ant: GPA-50 Fritzel Vertical, dipole for 80m
VHF trx handy: ICOM IC-V8
VHF trx: Radmor
VHF ant: indoor dipole
homemade elbug called 'Pincher'
