The Comprehensive Data Programmer (CDP) is a PC-resident tool that allows user configurations in FM1100, FM1200 and FM1300 radios to be customized, edited, copied and transferred between radios. Like the PDP, It is a rare find. The CDP has an output lead which connects to the microphone socket of the radio under treatment. The main components of the CDP are an 8-bit ISA PC insertion card and dedicated software. The ensemble will only run reliably on old DOS computers which is not surprising given its age. When using the CDP you should forget about Pentiums and Windows altogether.

Different software versions exist for the CDP-FM1100, CDP-FM1200 and CDP-FM1300, and these are selected from a shell-like CDP Menu.

There is also an FCDP (Factory Level CDP) which offers the highest possible access level. It enables parameters locked out for editing with a PDP to be unlocked as well as out of band frequencies to be ignored after verification... The PMRC has an FCDP-7 system for FM1100 and FM1200.

FM1000 series radios containing the Extensive Conversion will no longer require the CDP.
