Other stuff
here you see my two towers how they looked like back in year 2000. On the left (lower) tower there is TW33
Mosley 3 element Yagi for 30-17-12m on the top and 5 element monobander for 10m. On the right (taller) tower there is 2 element HB9CV for 20m and some wires for low bands.

I made some substantial changes with the target to improve the performance of the station in the
contests. The new configuration has been tested in IARU 2002, CQWW SSB 2002 and in
IARU HF contest 2003.

OM5A in IARU 2002 and CQWWDX SSB 2002
Many improvements have been achieved in tha shack:
- Automatic dual antenna decoder (WX9T) and home made six pack
- Low pass filters (2kW Ten-Tec modell for ACOM and Vectronics LP2500 for home made PA)
- Common ground in the shack
- Lightening protectors for both feeding lines to six pack
- Home made SO2R box with audio mixer
- 4 Square array for 40m switched with COMTEKSYSTEM
- Coaxial stubs and pairs of stubs installed in the feeding lines to monoband antennas 40m -10m
- Common mode filters installed on the feeding lines
- After computer modelling a redesigned 4 element Yagi for 15m band and 5 element Yagi for 10m were put up
- Antenna preselektor for second radio and ICE419 for run radio
- Reinstallation of home made PA for running station
- Remote tuning of the shunt fed tower (80m and 160m)
On the lower tower there is KT34a M2 on the top, TW33 below and 5 element for 10m on side
mount. The 10m Yagi is rotated with G1000DXC rotor. On the taller tower there is 2 element
HB9CV for 20m on top, 4 element Yagi for 15m below and 4 square system for 40m band. The
tower is shunt fed for 160m and 80m.

My plans for the next time:
- install Inrad front end modification to my Mark V (done)
http://www.qth.com/inrad/
- finish my ARSWIN project linked to rotor on tower 1 (rotating KT34a and TW33) (done - 18.04.2004)
http://www.ea4tx.com/
- incorporate my new ICE419 filter to automatic band decoder and switching system (done)
http://www.arraysolutions.com/Products/ice/
- installation of stack match with dual feedline option (KT34a and 5el for 10m) maybe another KT34a or two element quad will be installed on the side mount instead of 5 el yagi for 10m (second KT34a is already in the garage, waiting for upgrade kits from M2 - 18.04.2004... still waiting 6.05.2004... still waiting 03.06.2004)
- improve my home made 2kW amplifier - quiet vacuum relays, quiet ventilators, add 160m and 10m band option (done)
- change the RG58 coax cable in the shack for RG214 double shielded
- receiving antenna for 160 and 80m band (switching box for K9AY loop already finished)
http://www.hard-core-dx.com/nordicdx/antenna/loop/k9ay/
- renew my 12m tall vertical antenna on the roof and replace my old tuner for 80m CW, 80m SSB, 40m, 20m. (done - 18.04.2004)
- 30m hard line for kt34a on tower 1 with unun 50:75 Ohm on both sides
- second ICE 419 for second radio - automatic switching with band decoder (done - 18.04.2004)
- unun 50:75 Ohm between six pack and 75 Ohm hard line to 20m beam (done- flat SWR curve throughout the band - 18.04.2004
- new power/swr meter for home made amplifier (VFD - array solutions) (done - 6.05.2004)
- transcoswitch and PTT automation from 2 radios - to swap amplifiers and antennas between 2 radios (not installed yet, but already here - 3.6.2004)
- looking for better second radio - (second hand Mark field is prepared for the contest 3.6.2004)
- will change the CRT monitor for TFT
This is the setup I plan for the next contest season 2004.
And here is the Result of my effort in IARU HF 2004
OK-OM DX Contest 2004
My plans for the next time:
- install Inrad roofing filter to my Mark V (done)
http://www.qth.com/inrad/
- install Inrad roofing filter to MarkV field (done)
- repair damaged vertical for 80m (done)
- receiving antenna for 160 and 80m band (switching box for K9AY loop already finished)
http://www.hard-core-dx.com/nordicdx/antenna/loop/k9ay/
- 30m hard line for kt34aM2 stack on tower 1 with unun 50:75 Ohm on both sides (done)
- change the CRT monitor for TFT
- remove 20m HB9CV and 4 el monomabnd yagi for 15m (done august 2005)
- and put tri-(five)band antenna on tower 2 (done 21.9.2005. 4 element Steppir is up)
- paint tower 2
- sell home made amplifier and look for second automatic PA (OM-Power)
- install TRX-manager software and prepare the station for remote operation (via TCP/IP)
The new antenna setup:
Tower 1: stack of two KT34a M2 (10 and 17m high) TW33XL at 14m. The lower KT34a is mounted on side
mount and rotated with G1000DXC rotor.
Tower 2: 4 element Steppir yagi at 19m (20-6m coverage on 10m long boom), 4 square system for 40m band. The
tower is shunt fed for 160m and 80m.
12m long vertical on the roof of the house used for 80m cw, ssb and 40m operation.
