Station Description: SO2R
Radio 1> FT1000mp MKV + ACOM 2000
Radio 2> IC 706 & AL811HX
Antenna(s): 160m & 80m Vertical, 40m - 4
Square array, 20m - 2 el HB9CV, 15m - 4 el Yagi, 10m - 5 el Yagi.
I still could not break the target 3000
QSO´s/Contest from my city QTH but many technical improvements
of the station helped to break 4 mil. points.
FINISHED PROJECTS:
- Automatic dual antenna decoder (WX9T) and
home made six pack - everything worked flawlessly
with Writelog.
- Low pass filters (2kW Ten-Tec modell for
ACOM and 1,5kW MFJ 704 for AL811) - no problems
with TVI during whole contest.
- Common ground in the shack.
- Lightening protectors for both feeding
lines to six pack installed after heavy lightening during
IARU Contest. No lightening in WW SSB hi...
- Home made SO2R box with audio mixer
improved.
- 4 Square array for 40m switched with
COMTEKSYSTEM installed (2 directions available only
in contests - the dipoles are fixed on my
neighbour´s property) I used this antenna for
receiving on 80m band. The 80m vertical in the city
is a very bad RX antenna.
- Coaxial stubs installed in the feeding
lines to monoband antennas 40m -10m (be carefull,
the comercially available T-conectors are of very
bad quality.
- Common mode filters installed on the
feeding lines - the *usual* QRM from local radio station
(250 KW on 800kHz - 2km from my QTH) improved
substantially (Thanks DK1RP).
- After computer modelling a 4 element Yagi
for 15m band was put up on the second tower. Thanks
Gustav, OM7GW for help.
PLANS:
- Still some interstation interference,
coaxial stubs used on 40,20,15 and 10m antennas are not
enough. Pairs of stubs will be used in the future.
Antenna preselector for IC 706 worked fine, VRF in MARK V
works up to 20m band but I am considering to buy a
separate band pass filter for MARK V to get additional
filtering on all bands.
- Will put higher rotating mast on tower 1,
the top should be 18m above the ground.
- KT34a will sitt on the top of the
tower 1, tw33 WARC beam will be 14m high. Onother KT34a
will be mounted at 9,5m above the ground.
- I will stack the tribanders. One used
KT34a is already in garage, I am waiting for upgrade kit
from M2 and looking for another used KT34a.
- Improvement of RX antenna on low bands is
needed. There is no place for beverages, magnetic loop is
a possible way to go.
- ACOM as a multiplier PA, another PA (2kw)
for running station.
