What People Say About Tuck.........
World Class Young ARDFer Jay Thompson W6JAY speaks
up....
Tuck Miller NZ6T would be an excellent Vice Director. I
first met Tuck at the ARRL Southwestern Convention in San Diego in 1998. I was only
thirteen years old and I was going to try my first ham radio exam. I failed and I was
really sad. I was thinking, to give up and I was going to give up being a ham because it
was just too hard for me. But thats when Tuck Miller (NZ6T) came up to me and said
that I almost made it and I should keep trying and dont give up. It only took me
just one month to pass my 5 wpm code, novice, technician, and my general written test.
Because of Tuck Miller (NZ6T) I am now a ham. Since then Ive met Tuck all over the
ARRL Southwestern Division. He gets involved in Amateur Radio more then anyone else I know
and really enjoys helping people. Thats why Tuck Miller (NZ6T) should be our next
ARRL Southwestern Vice Director.
Thank you Tuck,
Jay Thompson W6JAY

Richard WA6NOL
Harry Hodges W6YOO, former San Diego SM
relates to us:
"I have known Tuck Miller, NZ6T, for almost
as long as he has been a Ham. If there has ever been someone who believes "that
helping others is always worthwhile", then he is the one. If you ask Tuck if he has
time to take on another project, his reply is always: "Sure, when do you need it
done". He certainly deserves the title of "Mister Amateur Radio" here in
San Diego. The term "been there, done that" really applies. As you can see by
the list of titles he has held, the projects he has worked on, and the numerous positions
of leadership he has filled, he is fully qualified to occupy the position of Vice
Director, Southwestern Division. When your ARRL Ballot arrives, do yourself, the ARRL, and
Amateur Radio in general, a favor, by marking an emphatic "X" in the box by
Tuck's name. Put a first class stamp on the envelope provided and get the ballot back in
to Headquarters promptly. I know he has my vote."
Past Midwest Director Lew Gordon
K4VX tells us:
"I have known Tuck Miller since early 1996 when we were both on
the WRC-99 Committee. This committee was formed to develop recommendations to the ARRL
Board of Directors for the eventual licensing and privilege restructuring of the Amateur
Service. Tuck brought to the committee the viewpoint of a new amateur, a no code
technician, which was missing. The other members of the committee held Extra Class
licenses. Tuck's presence provided a different perspective which was needed.
"Perhaps it was due to our urging, or more probable his own
self motivation, that Tuck studied and progressed from Tech to Extra in a very short time.
He now serves the League and all amateurs in his section as the San Diego Section
Manager. It is fitting that this hard working person should progress to ARRL
Southwestern Division Vice Director."
From the best YL in the country,
Evelyn N6EVE:
"As you know by now, my husband Tuck
NZ6T is running for Vice Director. The next few months will be busy for him as he prepares
for this election.
"I want to wish him the best of luck. He enjoys ham radio and that has
become a great hobby for him. I support him a lot, and if he is elected I know he will be
a great Vice Director, as he is now a great Section Manager."
From one of the best Harmonics, Evanna (no call yet):
"I guess you all heard I'm NZ6T's daughter. My name is Evanna. He is
President of two clubs. El Cajon and SOBARS. He also is a section manager. He supports me
to get my license. He works for the Trolly. He does a good job at the Trolly. He has 2
daughters, 3 grandsons. James, Shaine, and Juan. Please vote for my daddy. |
