There are some seals you have to "work" really hard on! On this page you will find some hints to make it a little bit easier.

The Meeting Seal

Every year the Neanderthal Chapter has a convention very close to the place where the bones of the "homo sapiens neanderthalensis" were found in 1856. During each year there will some additional meetings where you can meet members of our chapter:

  • Every year in June we attend the biggest amateur-radio meeting in Europe, the HAM-Radio, in Friedrichshafen/Lake Constanz. The 10-10 Neanderthal Chapter has a booth there to promote 10-10 International Net and Paper-Chasing.
  • Bad Bentheim hosts on the last full weekend in August the DNAT, German/Dutch Amateur Radio Days.
  • Every second year the DIG, Diploma Interest Group, has a meeting in different German regions and sometimes in neighboring countries.
  • Our friends of the other German 10-10 chapter New Waterkant have their own annual meeting.
  • The 10-10 International Net meeting held in the USA.

If you visit us there, you will receive the Meeting Seal. Every year there will be a new one, i.e. 2011 the Meeting Seal 2011 (short MS11). These seals are numbered and collectable.

We have a real "Neanderthaler" there (no, not DJ2YE he lives there today). No, a real OLDTIMER. Bring your camera along and take a picture. This will count for the Photo-Seal.

The Check In Seal

The Neanderthal Chapter net is held on every sunday 14:00 UTC (summer 16:00 CEST) and 15:00 UTC (winter 16:00 CET) on 28.355 MHz. German members have to check in 50 times, all others 10 times to receive the "CI1-seal". These seals are numbered and collectable. Don't worry, the chapter-head keeps track. If you have the CI1 feel free to to go for the CI2 ...

The Hunter of the Month

We started February 1999 with a "Hunter of the Month". Every month the chapter-head will ask a member of the Neanderthal Chapter to be the hunter. It should be a little secret - no one will know it in advanced. When you have a QSO with the Hunter of the Month she/he will tell you. If you had a QSO with the hunter, please let the CM know and you will receive 10 more on-air points. Remember, every month there is a new "Hunter of the Month" out there ...

The Photo Seal

Watch out! If you are lucky enough you will find a sign with the name "Neandert(h)al" or a picture of one of these old guys. For us local members it is easy to go to the museum and take a picture of ourself in front of a sign, but even in the Australian Outbacks a sign was found really in "the middle of nowhere".
In the future we will post all photos here ...

The Triple 7

The Neanderthal-Chapter held on February 19, 2012 its 777th net! As a little "thank you" for all who supports our activity we have a new special:

"The Triple 7"

The rules are very simple:

  • You can start collecting on February 19, 2012 or later, there is no time limit.
  • Collect 777 points or more by adding Neanderthal-Seals numbers together. Use the number of a seal as points.
Example: If someone has the seal ET#6 add 6 points, for the TS-seal#42 add 42 points.
  • You shall not use more than 7 Neanderthal-seals of any single operator or club station.
  • You shall not use you own seals or the seals of your own club stations.
  • When you complete the special, please send a list to the certificate manager and you receive an additional 77 on air points.
  • There are no costs.
