My favorite software for determining current
and future propagation is W6ELProp. W6ELProp can display a propagation table
between any two points and has a batch mode which is great for contesting.
Another feature I really like is the frequency map which shows the MUF
across the world by shading a world map with various densities.
Another program I love is HFProp. HFProp has frequency tabs that jump between propagation maps of the world. You can also setup how good your station is to adjust the accuracy of the maps.
HFProp can display maps showing the maximum usable frequency (MUF), the lowest usable frequency (LUF), the F2 critical frequency, and the E critical frequency.
Either program
can use either the Solar Flux or Sunspot Number. However, a better number to
use is the Effective Sunspot Number (SSNe). The SSNe is an adjusted number
that is more accurate than using just the Solar Flux or Sunspot Number.
I finished the links by giving you two pages with a conglomeration of
propagation information.
