June 24-25, 2017 (Noon-Noon MDT)
ARRL Field Day is the most popular on-the-air event held annually in the US and Canada. On the fourth weekend of June, more than 35,000 radio amateurs gather with their clubs, groups or simply with friends to operate from remote locations.

The primary objective is to work as many stations as possible on any and all amateur band (excluding 60, 30, 17, and 12-meter bands) and to learn to operate in abnormal situations in less than optimal conditions.  Many operators use this as a tool to ready themselves and their equipment for depoloyment in an emergency situation.  Ideal deployment is to work "off the grid" and use other means for power such as batteries, solar, and/or generators.  Field Day is not a contest and no certificates are awarded.

The LCARG will be participating in the event, stay tuned for a location.  All are welcome to join us.
