Equation 4-2 calculates the volume resolution of the system. This
resolution represents the flow volume per encoder pulse. The constants
used in the calculations are: 1.9686 turns per cm from the lead screw data
sheet, 12.7 cm total bellows extension from the bellows data sheet, and
8000 pulses per turn encoder resolution from the servo motor data sheet
This calculates to 200,000 pulses total for full extension. The volume
resolution of volume per pulse is calculated as follows. The total bellows
volume of 6.757 liters is divided by the 200,000 total pulses to return to
.033785 ml flow per pulse.
