Teddy Bears
Teddy Bears are made, not born.
They grow from seeds of love
Into threads of caring
Teddy-fabric is made of.
They're stuffed with softest angel down
From heaven (or close by),
And stitched with silver needles
From cloud linings in the sky.
Their noses are roast chestnuts
From many a Christmas past,
And their eyes are favorite marbles
Children long ago have cast.
But a Teddy's not a Teddy
Till he belongs to you,
Till he's shared your fears
And joys and tears.
For no matter where they come from,
However soft the feel,
It's love that makes a Teddy Bear...
And love that makes him REAL.
